A very eventful weekend

Why is it that whenever I have something different to do I decide to do these things all at once?? It only results in me being really tired, shattered, exhausted etc… but I still had a great weekend!

Friday I went to watch the rugby. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a rugby match before but it was years ago so it was sort of a new thing. As I went to a school, which was mad about rugby, you'd think I would know lots about it but I actually don’t have a clue or so I thought… I surprised myself and it didn’t take long for me to understand what was going on.

Saturday I rushed home from work to have a shower and then go to my friend Hannah’s house where we ordered pizza (mmmm) and got ready for another friend’s 18th birthday party. It was fancy dress where the guys were dressed up as gangsters and the gals were meant to wear 1920’s stuff...

It was a memorable night and we didn’t leave until 2.30am!!!

So that left Hannah and me about 2 or 3 hours sleep because we then had to wake up at 6am to catch a coach to London!!! It was Chinese New Year so we decided to go and see what went on. It was packed; apparently 200,000 people were there! There was a parade to open the events but we couldn’t really see anything apart from a dragon’s head popping up! I did manage to catch a glimpse of these girls who seemed to be Chinese cheerleaders!?

We then had lunch by Leister Square in a noodle bar- the noodles were luuuush! Then we went into China town but it was so busy that you really couldn’t move so that gave me a bit of a headache, well the noise there and the lack of sleep. So we left all the Chinese stuff and looked around Harrods. I forgot how flippin’ big it is, it’s something else! Also saw the Odeon where all the film premieres are and I saw the imprints of Hugh Grant and Colin Firth’s hands on the floor, ahhhh, Mr Darcy! Also visited the good old London sites like Buckingham Palace and Big Ben but because of this we managed to miss the fireworks back in Trafalgar Square! Then we were so tired to bother looking for a place to eat so we just went to the nearest restaurant, which happened to be an Italian, more pizza (mmmmmm).

Why am I the boring one??

Thanks to Lozza who found this quiz, although I wish I’d never taken it now… I’ve come out as Luke! How gay is that (not as gay as his dad)!?

You scored as Luke. You are physically healthy, socially popular, and intellectually bland. Start reading some books and pursuing some interests beyond instant physical gratification and what's popular. Start thinking more long term and less superficially and viscerally.

So I did it again and I was sandy, whats all that about! I want to be a cool character :(

You scored as Sandy. You are an easygoing idealist. You follow your own internal values and also know how to have a good time. Make sure that you are not so easygoing and fun seeking that you don't ever realize your ideals.

The fox & the cat

So usually you would expect to see a dog fighting with a cat in the middle of the night on a street... but tonight, I just saw a fox and a cat eying eachother up and ready for a scrap! Unfortunately I didn't get to see any full on fighting action, no blood or guts or anything, just the fox trying to escape from the cat! The question is, where did the fox come from??

Not what I expected

So I saw Jarhead last night and it was... well, not what I expected, it was better, so funny but a bit rude at times (well most times really) tut tut, but still very funny.

I missed the first half of The OC though- noooooooooooooo! It's ok though, I think I'm up to speed on things because it's quite easy to pick it up. The only thing I was worried about was if I'd missed any classic Seth Cowen moments!

Oh, and I saw an advert on tv for season 5 of 24!!! Well, I wasn't really watching the tv and I looked and saw it was an ad for 24 so I quickly turned away and was like 'Mum! Is it giving anything away??!' cos I really wanted to watch it really but didn't because even the slightest thing can spoil it.

24 24 24 24..... 25 25 25 25!

First the only number on my brain was 24- for obvious reasons.

Right now, the only number on my brain is 25 after counting every £25 John Lewis vouchers that ever existed and sorting them into groups of 25...... sound interesting? Nope didn't think so.

Wonder what will be next for number 26?

Apart from that, my day was actually quite good. Shall I bore you with it.... why not! I was getting trained properly in the cash office and it makes me feel so important! I'm surrounded by all this money and you have to count it out and swap bags of coins for 100 £20 notes and stuff like that and put all the money from the tills into sealed bags and give it to that man who walks around with that secure briefcase with that funny helmet on through a secure box... you with me so far?!

Please if possible....

call me Gemma, Gem, Gems, or anything thing around the name 'Gemma' just not somebody else's name because, well I'm Gemma, not anybody else, just me... get what I mean?!

Nothing can beat Grandma's cooking!

Mmmmmm, lunch at Grandma's today was good! The best bit was the pudding. I'm not usually a pudding person cos I never have it at home but when the youth go to Grandma's for lunch the pudding is what I'm waiting for! Lemon cheesecake is the best cheesecake I've ever had... it's so lush! I had 2 pieces of that AND a piece of choc cake- what a fatty! Seriously, if you haven't tried my Grandma's cheesecake then you haven't lived. Me and Lozza with our cheesecake just reminded me of the Friends episode where Rachel and Chandler eat the cheesecake! See, life is just like Friends.

A 'solid' trip to town

So we went down town yesterday and I've been to town loads, but this time it was quite different...
  • I got bird poo on the back of my jeans!!! At the time I was keeping it a massive secret, trying to cover it up and now I'm telling everyone on a blog! All I've got to say is thank you for friends like Nami who tell you and then help you scrub it off with toilet tissue
  • I had one of those milkshakes from Shake King. Don't know if you've seen it before but it is sooooo cool! It has every weird flavour under the sun... muffin, jelly babies, twix, bakewell tart, poptarts, toffee popcorn, custard creams, ferrero rocher, love hearts, shortbread, jammie dodgers... the list really does go on and on! I had a jelly tots milkshake, Dan had dolly mixture flavour and Daza had haribo!
  • Everyone (apart from me cos I was trying on some jeans and Nami who was on a shopping mission) got spoken to by a TV crew and might be on BBC 2... so unfair :(
  • Sam sold some gold for 15 squid
  • Saw Lil' Tom and Bruce on the bus
  • We annoyed everyone on the bus by singing 'in the jungle' and saying 'HI BRUCE' about 50 times

Yeh, so that was pretty much it!

6.30am is too early and it shouldn't exist

My timetable is quite cool because most mornings on one week I don't need to get up untill at least 9.15, this morning though I had to get up at 6.30 and it was soooo hard. I'm just not a morning person. If I had to get up at 2.30am to go on a plane to Australia then sure, I'll do it, but to get up early to go to school is just crap!

Just like to say though, that on Saturday mornings I've been getting ready in 20minutes, how good is that!?

Anyway, this must be really boring to read but I have nothing better to do. I'm meeting the solids in a bit because we all seem to have a free friday afternoon! The thing is they're not getting on the bus till 12 and I finished at 11.45 and everyone's in lessons :-(

So, what else can I talk about.... yesterday I was so dumb. For some reason I caught the bus an hour early than I needed to but thinking I was going to be late, duh! So all I was thinking was, I could've had an extra hours sleep grrrrr!

I should probably start treking to town now, have a good day :-)

Californiaaaaaaa... here we coooooomme!

Ah, new season of The OC was on last Tuesday night and it was good! I love it and I have to say I'm probably in agreement with Tom as 24 and Friends are my favourite top 2 programmes, but I've decided that my 3rd favourite is The OC! The main attraction for me is probably Adam Brody aka Seth Cowen (who by the way is sooo much nicer than Ryan)...
Ahhh..... oh sorry, yeh The OC, it's just cool. Makes you feel a tiny bit jealous when you see where they live, like swimming pools in back garden and amazing view of the sea, also has cool music.... on E4, Tuesday nights - watch it!

Now I'm talking like my bro...

A picture of 3 boys came up on the TV...

Me: they all look the same

Bro: they're triplets... (well he actually said twins but I know what he meant!)

TV disputes

Arggh, so annoying when a family member wants to watch some crappy soap star singing thing when I need to watch the new series of 'Smallville'!!! If I miss the first episode of 'The OC' tomorrow night I will not be happy!

A break from 24... not gonna happen

So the lil 24 crew who were on season 2 finshed it, yay! We said we were going to have a bit of break from 24 and then get stuck into season 3 soon. But did that happen... of course not! I think it was pretty much the next day which was yesterday infact that we gave in and borrowed the first disk of season 3 from Tristan. Shows how strong we are eh!?

A Prayer for the Stressed

For those who work- I found this funny!
Grant me the serenity to accept things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill today becase they p'd me off.

And also, help me be careful of the toes I step on today as they may be connected to the ass that I may have to kiss tomorrow.
Help me to always give 100% at work
12% on Monday
23% on Tuesday
40% on Wednesday
20% on Thursday
5% on Fridays
And help me to remember...
When I am having a really bad day, and it seems that people are trying to p me off, that it takes 42 muscles to frown and only 4 to extend my arm and smack the idiot in the mouth.

Stuck

So I have a wholepiece of coursework that has to be in tomorrow, I have a free day, nothing else to do and yet I just can't bring myself to do it! Why is that?? I know how important it is and nothing is standing in my way apart from my laziness!!! Grrrr, I can annoy myself so much sometimes. So instead of doing the coursework I try to find absolutely anything which will distract me from it. Sitting at a computer is the worse thing to do (even though I need the computer to do my work), there's MSN, blogs to read, my blog to write, other crap on the internet!

It's a new year, a fresh start... I will get it done!

Everybody's 24 crazy!

So I spent most of my day watching 24 (yeh, we decided to scrap the whole watching it in 24 hours thing- maybe do it in the summer!). It really is just one of those things which you can't stop watching. You get to the last minute of it and some big twist happens which means that you HAVE to watch the next one.

We are now half way through the 2nd season- woohoo!!!

Ooo, by the way I got an mp3 player for Christmas, a Sony bean... it's so cute!
