A very eventful weekend
Friday I went to watch the rugby. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a rugby match before but it was years ago so it was sort of a new thing. As I went to a school, which was mad about rugby, you'd think I would know lots about it but I actually don’t have a clue or so I thought… I surprised myself and it didn’t take long for me to understand what was going on.
Saturday I rushed home from work to have a shower and then go to my friend Hannah’s house where we ordered pizza (mmmm) and got ready for another friend’s 18th birthday party. It was fancy dress where the guys were dressed up as gangsters and the gals were meant to wear 1920’s stuff...
It was a memorable night and we didn’t leave until 2.30am!!!
So that left Hannah and me about 2 or 3 hours sleep because we then had to wake up at 6am to catch a coach to London!!! It was Chinese New Year so we decided to go and see what went on. It was packed; apparently 200,000 people were there! There was a parade to open the events but we couldn’t really see anything apart from a dragon’s head popping up! I did manage to catch a glimpse of these girls who seemed to be Chinese cheerleaders!?
We then had lunch by Leister Square in a noodle bar- the noodles were luuuush! Then we went into China town but it was so busy that you really couldn’t move so that gave me a bit of a headache, well the noise there and the lack of sleep. So we left all the Chinese stuff and looked around Harrods. I forgot how flippin’ big it is, it’s something else! Also saw the Odeon where all the film premieres are and I saw the imprints of Hugh Grant and Colin Firth’s hands on the floor, ahhhh, Mr Darcy! Also visited the good old London sites like Buckingham Palace and Big Ben but because of this we managed to miss the fireworks back in Trafalgar Square! Then we were so tired to bother looking for a place to eat so we just went to the nearest restaurant, which happened to be an Italian, more pizza (mmmmmm).
